Friendship
Ministry
A "Circle of
Friends" expressing God's love through caring, sharing, encouraging and
follow-up.
Outreach Ministry
Sharing the reality of Christ both at home and
abroad. We share the "Good News" through personal witness,
work-camps, building projects and the media.
Prayer Ministry
Serves as a
source of continual prayer for our church as we serve in our city,
state, country and the world. We support our pastors, their
families, our lay leaders and all the ministries of the church through
prayer.
Service Ministry
Strives to
meet "real" and practical needs of others. The reality of God's
love and compassion is shared by showing that we care.
Teaching Ministry
Involved with
the teaching of God's truth in various forms (lessons, puppets, video
film, etc). Whether it be in the classroom, home or recreation
area, God's word is taught by example, word and deed.
Worship Ministry
It
is open to a wide range of people with various
gifts. Those involved are charged with helping people have an
intimate time with God.
Youth Ministries
Primarily
involve middle school and high school young people. Our programs
are oriented to a younger generation and are designed around the
mission of First Church of God. A sample of activities include
weekly meetings and activities, summer camps, retreats and fun trips of
various kinds.
Sunday
School Classes
Children
and Youth Classes
We
provide classes for all of our children and youth from the nursery
through high school. These classes are graded by age and cover a
variety of topics and teaching styles.
A "Children's Church" ministry is provided for children from age 3
through 2nd grade during our regular worship services. A nursery
is also provided for children from infant through age 2 during our
services.
Friendship Bible Class
Focuses on
teaching the things that Christians need for practical living. It
is a conversational class where students are guided in discussion on
subjects such as how to pray, relying on the Holy Spirit, how to live a
life pleasing to God, etc.
This class tackles the tough questions that every
Christian must answer in order to make it into the Kingdom of
God. The class appeals to adults of both genders and all levels
of spiritual maturity.
Victory Class
A group is
made up of younger couples and singles spanning a variety of
ages. They study different books and topics of interest to the
group as it relates in today's world.
Ladies Class
Consists
exclusively of adult ladies. They study elected topics of
interest from a Christian woman's perspective.
Special
Interest Group
Discipleship
Class
A
small group of men and women who meet together once a week and desire
to have a closer relationship with God. The class activities
consist of individual daily prayer, meditation, Bible reading and
accountability.
The class is lead by a "Discipler" who has previously
gone through the class and feels led by God to help other grow in the
knowledge of the Lord.
Ladies Bible Study
A more intense
Bible study directed to and exclusively for ladies of various
ages. It meets every other Friday night. A meal or snack is
usually shared before the study begins.
A rotating schedule of hostesses and homes are usually
used to accommodate the informal study.
W.C.G. (Women of the
Church of God)
This
group of ladies has a large variety in age. Its focus is a
mission-oriented one. Activities include retreats, special
projects and fund-rising, etc. They meet monthly.
