First Church of God has stood as a landmark for many of God's people in Columbia, South Carolina since 1947. Meetings were first held in the South Edisto location. 

Our present building at 2665 Covenant Road was occupied in December of 1964 and has stood the "test of time" because its foundation is Jesus Christ. By God's grace, this church shall continue to serve both locally and around the world as we strive to bring a new hope to people through friendship, prayer, service, teaching and outreach.

We pray that this web site shows who we are and the potential that we hold. God has blessed us in the past and continues to do so today. 

We have no doubt that He will continue to bless us in the future as we honor Him with our worship. As you browse this site, pray for the ministries of the church and for the ones through whom they happen.

It is our belief that God is revealing a new and even greater opportunity for us to become involved in ministry each day. It was through the dedication and commitment of our predecessors that we have come this far, and it will be through the dedication and commitment of our present and growing church family that will allow us to continue to reach others for Christ in the future.
